Becka Hendry
Becka Hendry is a mixed media artist. She is a sculptor, a ceramicist and a painter; often using recycled or found objects to fuel her creations. In 2000 Becka attended New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. After a short stint, Becka made a conscious decision that following year, to make room for more self direction within her art and sought out a more intimate educational experience at Green Mountain College in Vermont.
Instead of determining a specific area of concentration within her fine arts major, Becka created a balance between her three dimensional work and her two dimensional work allowing one to nurture the other. Through this exploration of mediums, a cohesion was developed for a solo exhibition in 2005 to culminate her collegiate experience. Becka earned a Bahelor in Fine Arts and a psychology minor in 2005 from Green Mountain College. Graduating Magna Cum Laude, she was awarded a Fine Arts Senior Award and The Three Graces Award.
In 2006 Becka had another solo exhibition at Quinebaug Valley Council for the Arts and Humanities Center in Southbridge, Massachusetts. Constantly continue education has become of great importance to Becka to both feed the mind and create new connections. Becka currently lives in Poland, Maine and has an in-home studio where she attempts to seek a new balance of being both a new mother and an artist.
